“Hot North Wind”, the raucous new single from Melbourne dark country quartet, Mightiest of Guns, is their second release from forthcoming debut album, “Drink Over Your Grave”, recorded and mixed at Captain B Studios with Brooke Penrose, front man of alt country darlings, Saint Jude and mastered by Nao Anzai.

Showcasing Drink Over Your Grave’s more upbeat, rowdier side, Hot North Wind is a breather from the album’s more prevalent themes of cowboys and bushrangers, with the short blistering rockabilly romp based on a flashback of rolling in the gutter all summer-drunk in dire need of rescue.

Thunderous B-side, 'Dead Eye' is inspired by Wild West outlaw Ned Christie who drunkenly shot his neighbours' dog and the sheriff who came to arrest him. Christie managed evade U.S Marshall’s for years until he was brought down during the siege of his fortified cabin, by cannons and a small army. He was defiant to the end.
